Step 1: Pick a starter and enter a stage
Choose Jake if you have no strong preference. Creators and commenters recommend him because his early upgrades turn into area attacks, while Finn starts as a single-target melee unit. If you already picked Finn, keep going: no reset path is documented, and the starter is not the reason a run fails.
Equip your team, choose the first stage, and start the wave.
Jake or Finn
| Jake | Finn | |
|---|---|---|
| Attack shape | Stretchy punch; upgrades add Hammer Slam and Stretchy Tornado (area) | Sword slashes and leaps; later upgrades add Meteor Strike |
| Early wave clear | Strong: area attacks arrive early | Weaker: mostly single-target until later upgrades |
| Evolution ceiling | Alien Jake: black hole, 11,000 damage at level 50 | Adult Finn is announced, but no comparable values exist |
| First-session experience | Forgives a thin team because he covers groups | Needs another unit to cover groups |
Pick Jake if you have no strong preference. If you already picked Finn, keep going: no starter-reset path is documented, and adding an area unit through summons fixes the same gap. The comparison comes from creator footage and comments, not a controlled same-level test.
Step 2: Separate coins from gems
Two currencies look similar and are not:
- Coins are earned inside the match. You spend them on placing and upgrading units in that match.
- Gems are account currency. You spend them at the Treasure Hoard between matches.
A placement or upgrade that costs 11,550 coins cannot be paid with gems, and a 360-gem summon cannot be paid with coins. The panel in the match shows the upgrade price; the account balance is shown in the hub.
Step 3: Place, upgrade, and watch the wave count
Place a unit on valid ground beside the path. Select it to see damage, cooldown, range and the upgrade price. Upgrade during the wave if the next wave is the one that leaks; otherwise save for a second unit.
The match screen shows the wave number and a countdown. A wave that reaches the base costs lives; the run ends when the base runs out.
Step 4: Claim the codes that are verified
Redeem these in the Tree Fort at Jake's Code Corner:
RELEASE → THANKSFOR200LIKES → THANKSFOR100CCU → HALLOWEENSOON → MATHEMATICAL → ALGEBRAIC
Only RELEASE and THANKSFOR200LIKES rewards were verified in-game: 1,500 gems, 15 Trait Crystals and 5 Units of Juice, then 1,000 gems and 15 Trait Crystals. The other four names are listed by the official Discord, but their rewards are not verified here.
Step 5: Spend gems carefully
A multi-summon is reported at 360 gems, but that price comes from a secondary source. Confirm it in your client before committing.
Do not spend the whole balance on the first banner. Two multi-summons give you enough units to fill a six-slot team; a third is better spent after you know which role is missing.
Step 6: Feed units without losing them
Units on your active team cannot be fed. To level a unit with XP Candy or duplicates:
- Remove it from the team.
- Open Items and choose Feed.
- Select the unit and confirm the candy or duplicate.
- Put it back on the team.
If the game refuses the feed, the unit is still equipped.
Step 7: Claim the level rewards at Finn
Every five levels, return to the Tree Fort and talk to Finn. The reward is 1,000 gems and it is not automatic. Missing it is one of the most common early losses.
Spending gems before checking the level gate
Act 4 THE RED THROAT shows a level 50 requirement. That is one stage's gate, not a rule for every world. If you are short, farm the highest stage you clear reliably and claim the level rewards instead of buying summons you cannot use yet.
The run keeps failing on the first waves
Place cheaper units first, upgrade the one covering the longest stretch of path, and keep coins for the wave after the next. If the base still leaks, the problem is usually coverage, not unit rarity.
